SC Aerospace Industry: $17.4 Billion Economic Impact and 53k Jobs, and Counting

California-based Impresa Aerospace announced the acquisition of a Goose Creek machining and manufacturing facility Dynamic Solutions and will add 72 jobs over the next five years.  That is just another example of another aerospace business making its first East Coast acquisition of a local Charleston company and creating more jobs in an already significant industry, aerospace, following Boeing to the Lowcountry.  The “new facility positions us to meet the growing needs of Boeing and other key customers in the region”, according to one of Impresa’s financial partners.  Impresa’s other customers include Northrup Grumman, Sikorsky, Lockheed Martin and Gulfstream.  David Wren of The Post and Courier has the story here.
