The region’s only Whole Foods in Mount Pleasant is getting upgraded in early 2015 with a license now for on-premises consumption of bear and wine, but also adding a seafood grill, a burrito bar, a sushi and noodle bar, a new growler station and coffee bar and expanded cafe and frozen food section, all to be done my March. The all-natural LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics will open its first store in South Carolina next week on King Street. The chain has 150 stores nationwide and about 700 worldwide. An outdoor sporting goods retail store of 30,000 SF will anchor the eyesore Heritage Square shopping center in Summerville and include fishing gear and an 18-bay shooting range. Palmetto State Armory, based in Columbia, is also planning to take the former Food Lion at National Center in Mt. Pleasant, though the shooting range has been nixed.
