A mixed-use development that includes apartments, a hotel, restaurants and office space are planned near Tanger Outlets in N CHS. The next step is to get approval to fill 28.5 acres of wetlands. The Post and Courier’s Warren Wise has the story here.

Monarch Investments, a value-add retail buyer out of Atlanta, made their second purchase in the CHS region with the acquisition of Shoppes at Centre Pointe, a 140,000 SF center anchored by Ashely Furniture and Staples, located across from Tanger Outlets in N CHS. Monarch paid a reported $16.5M or about $118/SF in December to special servicer CWCapital that had foreclosed on the center in early 2014. Monarch bought North Charleston Center a couple of years ago, paying DDR some $68/SF for that asset about two years ago. No article.
N CHS Retail Node Getting Conn’s HomePlus, a new La-Z-Boy Home Furnishings; Plus West Elm Opens Downtown
The regional retail mass around Tanger Outlets at I-526 and I-26 in N CHS is getting two new boxes next to the new Field and Stream that will open later this month – a 45.8k SF Conn’s HomePlus was announced and La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries will open a 16.2k SF box next to Conn’s and both should be open in Spring 2016.
Also, West Elm, the high-end furniture shop and cousin to Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn will open its new 10k SF store at 484 King Street downtown.
Field and Stream, the outdoor recreational gear arm of Dick’s Sporting Goods, will open its first area store in late August, a 50k SF store in N CHS near Tanger. Warren Wise has the announcement for The Post and Courier.
Field and Stream, the magazine turned retailer under the Dick’s Sporting Goods banner, wants to build a 50k SF store near Tanger Outlets and the airport in N CHS, in addition to the planned Dick’s underway in Mount Pleasant, and existing Dick’s at Citadel Mall and in Summerville. Directly across from Tanger Outlet Center, a small multi-tenant retail center is coming to the pad out front of Shoppes at Centre Pointe on Centre Point Drive, between IHOP and Qdoba. Its only four suites and there have been leased – to Carolinas TelCo Federal Credit Union, to Sport Clips and an AT&T store; the fourth bay is not yet leased. Expected opening is by December.
